Leagues

The Hamilton Area YMCA offers non-competitive sports leagues for youth.  We strive to teach basic skills as well as the concepts of teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.  We stress participation and fun so that all participants can have a positive experience.

The YMCA Philosophy of Youth Sports:

•  Everyone Plays—We do not use tryouts to select the best players.  No one is cut from a team.

 •  Safety First—Coaches and officials will make sure the equipment and facilities are safe.

 •  Fair Play—It’s about playing by the rules and showing respect for all involved.

 •  Positive Competition—Learning to compete and cooperate in a competitive world is an essential lesson of life.

 •  Family Involvement—We encourage all family members to participate through helping on the field, supporting your child’s participation or bringing snacks.

 •  Sport for All—We offer programs to all youngsters regardless of their race, gender religious creed or ability.  The goal is to develop peer relationships in a team environment.

 •  Sport for Fun—Sports are naturally fun for most kids.  Adults also need to support their child when needed, and be a good role model for others.

About the Volunteer Coaches:

Parent/Volunteer Coaches are the key ingredients to a successful program.  Coaches volunteer their time to develop your child and their positive experience is just as important to them as it is to you.
