A parent/guardian must accompany children under the age of 13 and must remain in the building while children are attending classes.

Parent/Child Classes

Wiggles & Giggles (ages 18 mo. - 3 years)
Parents will play an important role in helping their children develop basic motor skills while learning gymnastics. Children and parents will have the opportunity to roll, crawl and climb on soft and safe equipment.

Fun Time Sports (ages 2 - 3 with parent)
Parents and children can enjoy this sports class together. Have fun with your child learning the basics of a variety of sports. Gym games will also be included such as obstacle courses, relay races and parachute.

Preschool Sports & Gym Classes

Pee Wee Basics (ages 3 - 5)
This is a co-ed introduction geared to stimulate the participants interest and confidence in a variety of sports. T-ball, soccer, hockey, basketball, and bike safety are among some of the sports that will be introduced.

Pee Wee Shooters (ages 3 - 5)
This program is designed to teach the basics and fundamentals of basketball. Dribbling, passing and shooting will be introduced.

Sticks & Sluggers (ages 3 - 5)
Children will learn the basics of hockey and T-ball in this action packed class

Pee Wee Soccer (ages 3 � 5)
A co-ed introduction to soccer. Children will learn basic skills, drills and instruction. At the YMCA we emphasize fair play, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

Pee Wee Cheerleading (ages 4 � 6)
Children will have fun learning cheers, chants, basic tumbling skills and dance routines.

Gym Jammers I (ages 3 - 4)
This program allows your child to explore and develop new skills without the aid of a parent. Coordination and balance are stressed as well as an introduction to basic gymnastics. Participants must be potty trained.

Gym Jammers II (ages 4 - 5)
This program is designed to build on the Gym Jammers I program. Children will learn tumbling as well as basic skills on the single bar and floor beam. Participants must be potty trained and have passed Gym Jammers I or be age 5 in order to participate.

Youth Sports & Fitness Classes

NEW! YMCA Cheerleading Squad (ages 5 - 14)
The YMCA Cheerleading Squad practices during the week at the JKR Branch with basketball games to cheer for on the weekends. Children will learn a variety of cheers, chants, stunts, and dance routines in preparation for the games. The squad will also perform in the Winter & Spring Dance Shows. Registration forms will be available at the member service desk beginning August 18. Practices will begin in September, games begin in November. The season ends in April. For more information, contact Coach Rebecca Harcar at extension 1121.

All American Youth (ages 6 - 10)
This program encourages young children to experiment with different sports and foster self-confidence in the process. A variety of sports will be explored, including basketball, soccer, floor hockey, volleyball and more.

"Y" Shooters (beginner, ages 6 - 8)
This program is designed to teach the basics and fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting. Rules, offense and defense will also be introduced.

"Y" Dribblers (intermediate/adv., ages 9 - 12)
This program builds on the "Y" Shooters program. Fundamentals are reviewed and elaborated on, as well as positioning (offense and defense); plays, situations and games are introduced. Participants must have passed the "Y" Shooters program or have a working knowledge of basketball to be enrolled in this program.

Rollers (beginner, ages 6 - 12)
Proper body mechanics and flexibility are stressed in this basic gymnastic instruction class. Tumbling, beam, uneven bars and vault are introduced.

NEW! Youth Fit & Fun (ages 6 – 10)
This fitness class for youth will incorporate cardiovascular exercise, resistance training and stretching in a fun way that youth will enjoy! Gym class games, sports conditioning and relay races are just some of the activities that will be incorporated.

Teen Sports & Fitness Classes

Teen Circuit Strength (ages 12 - 14)
This small group format is designed to teach proper technique and appropriate intensity on a circuit of strength and cardio machines in our Strive room. Safety will be emphasized and participants must follow all the wellness center guidelines. Participants MUST be registered to participate. Registration will be limited to 8 participants.

NEW! Girl Fit (ages 11 - 14)
This fitness class will include hip-hop dance, pilates, yoga, walking and stretching. It will also incorporate healthy tips for girls including proper nutrition, proper technique for muscle conditioning and safety while exercising.

NEW! Sport Fitness (ages 11-14)
We will use sport drills, games, and fitness stations for a fun, challenging workout. All levels and abilities welcome. No sports experience or coordination necessary

Teens can also participate in our Aqua Teen Aquatic fitness class

Teen Fitness Express Card (ages 13 - 17)
Enjoy all the land group exercise classes. We offer Yoga, Pilates, Cardio & Tone, kickboxing classes and more!

At minimum, a Basic Membership must remain current throughout the duration of the program session. If your membership expires during the program session, you must renew at the time of registration for participation to be uninterrupted.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES AT THE Y
Have your child's next Birthday Party at the YMCA!
The Hamilton Area YMCA offers exciting birthday parties for children of all ages! All parties include the gym or the pool and a party room for up to 25 people. Contact Rebecca Harcar at extension 1121 for parties at the JKR Branch or Chip Rorer at extension 2103 for parties at Sawmill.

Sports & Splash Party Package Options:

Basic Party Includes the use of the gym or pool with an
instructor/lifeguard and use of the party room.

Party Plus Includes organized activities in the gym or pool, an activities leader, an instructor/lifeguard and use of the party room. Party Invitations are also included.

Party Extravaganza Includes organized activities in the gym or pool, an activities leader and an instructor/lifeguard. A party host will decorate the party room with a birthday banner, balloons and table cloths. Party Invitations are included as well as a YMCA birthday T-shirt for the birthday person.

Themed Party Package Option:
New! Preschool Themed Party (children ages 1-5)

The Hamilton Area Y now offers fun, exciting birthday parties for our Early Learners. Our Birthday Party Package offers four themed preschool selections. Choose from Baby’s First Birthday, Barnyard Party fun, a Dinosaur Dig or the Royal Tea Party for your little princess. The Party Package includes a decorated themed party area, with birthday banner, balloons and paper goods. A visit from the YMCA Birthday Bear will include songs, games and a special birthday t-shirt for the birthday boy or girl. Contact Lorraine Hendrick at extension 1127 for additional information.

KARATE (TAE KWON DO)
Learn the discipline of Karate and enhance your level of physical fitness, self-esteem, and confidence. Belt advancement can be obtained through this program.
