Our instructional sports programs offer a wide variety of classes for children ages 8 months through 17 years old. Programs focus on the skill and social development of your child in a fun environment. Instructors lead players through drills and games that build skills and develop coordination and participants are able to learn and grow by making decisions in our challenge by choice teaching style. Our philosophy is simple. We make sure everyone participates and we focus on teamwork and sportsmanship as well as physical skills. We are confident that we have a class that's right for your child!

Parent/Child Sports & Gym (ages 19 months to 3 years)


We define parent broadly to include all adults with primary responsibility for raising children, including biological parents, adoptive parents, guardians, stepparents, grandparents, or any other type of parenting relationship.

Little Rookies (ages 19 - 36 months with Parent)

Provides an enjoyable atmosphere that allows kids and parents to have fun while learning an overview of different sports. This program introduces basic skills, rules, and teamwork needed in sports like basketball, soccer and T-ball.

Team Toddlers (ages 19 - 36 months with parent)

Provides a positive and fun setting that encourages toddlers and parents enjoy themselves while working on basic motor skills.

Preschool Sports & Gym (ages 3 – 5 )

Kidsercise (ages 3 - 5)

Kids will get to run around and have fun exercising and play different games. Free play will also be included.

Little Athletes (ages 3 - 5)

Learn 3 Popular sports; Basketball, Soccer, T-ball. Children will build confidence, develop teamwork and learn social skills in a positive, fun environment.

Pee Wee B-Ball & T-Ball (ages 3 - 5)

Learn the basics of Basketball and T-ball through skills, drills, and other fun activities. This program will give kids a chance to make new friends and be active while learning to love sport.

Pee Wee GATORS (ages 3 - 5)

This program is tailored around Games, Activities, Obstacles, Relays and Sports to get young children to have fun while being active and increase the development of gross motor skills.

Sports Start (ages 3 - 5)

Introduce sports though concepts like throwing, catching, hitting, jumping, bouncing and more using games and activities. This class is designed for children who want to explore a wide variety of sports and activities.

Super Star Soccer (ages 3 - 5)

Pass! Kick! Score! This program is designed for kids to learn the fundamentals of soccer combining team play and individual skills.

Y Rookies (ages 3 - 5)

Have fun while learning the concepts, skills, and rules of multiple different sports including basketball, soccer, T-ball and hockey. Kids will play games and run drills that are fundamental for success.

All Star Sports (ages 6 - 8)

Become an All Star while learning to play baseball, football, soccer, basketball, hockey, tennis, and more!

Fencing (ages 6 - 12)

Learn to dodge, parry and thrust in this very popular class. Also, learn proper form, technique and fencing etiquette.

Games Galore, Sports and More (ages 6 – 10)

Join the fun with your friends and explore the wide variety of sports and games! Children will be introduced to kickball, scooters, relay races, and other fun games and sports!

Let's Get Movin' (ages 6 - 8)

Have fun with various physical fitness activities, obstacles, games, and races. This program is designed to improve kid’s strength, agility and coordination.

Sports Mania (ages 6 – 8)

This program will boost your skills and knowledge of concepts and rules in multiple different sports. Children will play sports in a loose and fun environment. Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, and baseball are just a few sports your child will get to try.

Sports Sampler (ages 6 - 8)

Have fun with your friends and get a chance to sample new and different sports! Children will learn the rules and how to play pickleball, ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, and more!

Sports, Speed & Agility (ages 9 – 12)

Become quicker, stronger, faster, and more agile! This program children will develop running techniques, agility training, and knowledge of different sports.

Triple Play (ages 6 - 8)

Expand your knowledge and skills in 3 popular sports Basketball, Soccer and baseball. This program will focus on teamwork and individual success.

Y Dodgeball (ages 9 - 12)

Kids will get to learn and play different games of dodgeball in a fun, safe environment!

Y Dribblers (intermediate/advanced ages 9 - 12)

Learn more advanced skills of basketball including layups, dribbling, jump shooting, defense, rebounding and more.

Y Shooters (beginner ages 6 - 8)

 

Provides children with a fun atmosphere to work on their basketball skills. Kids will learn how to pass, dribble and shoot by doing drills and playing games. Rules, offense and defense will be introduced.

Y Soccer (beginner ages 6 - 8)

 

This program is designed to teach the basics and fundamentals of soccer. Children will learn dribbling, passing and shooting by doing drills and playing games. Rules, offense and defense will also be introduced.

Y World of Sports (age 6 - 8)

Learn and have fun playing a wide range of sports that include soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, football and more!

Youth Fitness (ages 6 - 12)

This class will consist of 30 minutes of exercise and 30 minutes of games and races. Classes will focus on strength, skills and cardiovascular fitness.

Pickleball (ages 18+)

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, ping pong, and racquetball.  It is one of the fastest growing sports in America. It’s a Low impact game that’s easy to learn, great exercise, a great way to meet new people, and A LOT of fun!

There is no better way to explain the sport of Pickleball to someone other than letting them experience it for themselves. Each registered participant can bring a friend to try out 1 session for free.

There is a $5.00 drop-in fee per day.

Gymnastics at the Hamilton Area YMCA

We offer a year round Gymnastics program for boys and girls ages 3 - 12. We provide classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced. Our classes provide a fun, safe learning environment with instructors who are qualified in excellent teaching techniques and safety standards. Our youngest gymnasts will explore and develop new skills; coordination and balance are stressed as an introduction to basic gymnastics. Our older gymnasts will learn proper body mechanics and flexibility and will utilize the beam, uneven bars, vault and tumbling on the floor mats.

Baby Steps (ages 8 - 17 months with parent)

Designed to introduce babies, with their parents, to different movements like rolling, crawling, and climbing on soft and safe gymnastics equipment. Free play and circle time will be included.

Tumbling Two’s and Three's (ages 24 – 36 months with parent)

 

Parents and children can explore the world of gymnastics in an age appropriate setting. This class focuses on developing motor skills such as walking, jumping, and balance using gymnastics equipment and activities.

Wiggles & Giggles (ages 18 - 30 months with parent)

Parents and children can explore the world around them with age appropriate activities. This program allows kids to socialize and play while developing gross motor skills.

Preschool Gymnastics (ages 3 – 5)

Kinder Gymnastics (ages 3 - 5)

This program is an introduction to basic gymnastics. Students will work on balance and coordination using gymnastics equipment and activities. Athletic attire is required.

Gymnastics I (ages 4 - 5)

This beginner gymnastics class focuses on proper body mechanics and flexibility. Tumbling, beam, uneven bars, vault and trampoline are introduced. Students will learn forward rolls, cartwheels, and back bends. Leotard and shorts are required for all classes. Athletic attire is required.

Youth Gymnastics (ages 5 - 12)

Gymnastics II - beginner/intermediate (ages 5 - 8 & 8 - 12)

This beginner gymnastics class focuses on proper body mechanics and flexibility. Tumbling, beam, uneven bars, vault and trampoline are introduced. Leotard and shorts are required for all classes.

Gymnastics III - intermediate/advanced (ages 9 - 12)

This class will help children achieve a more solid understanding of strength, flexibility, balance, control and confidence. Featured in this class are round offs, front and back walkovers, and back handsprings while focusing in floor work, beam, uneven bars, vault and trampoline. 

*Instructors approval is required before taking the class.
