Togetherhood Projects Engage Community

We’re dedicated to strengthening community by giving back and supporting our neighbors. Togetherhood is an initiative that gives Y members the opportunity to select, plan and lead meaningful community service projects that benefit the people and organizations right here in our own community!

Just this fall our Togetherhood Committee has embarked on projects such as the Halloween Candy drive and a Coat drive.

For their first year of organizing the Halloween Candy drive, Togetherhood collected 855 pounds of candy that was sent to our Troops overseas through Operation Gratitude. Y Connection sorted the donations and Care One at Hamilton generously covered the shipping costs. The big reveal of our total was done at our Veterans Day Celebration with Veterans dating back to WWII and from different branches of the Armed Forces present.

In November, Togetherhood collected over 200 new and gently used, children and adult coats that were donated to Rescue Mission, Catholic Charities and HomeFront.
