Hamilton Area YMCA
Recreational Sports
The Y is the jumping off point for many kids to learn about the importance of physical activity — and for developing the healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.
The benefits of joining Youth Sports at the Hamilton Area YMCA are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the YMCA is about building a healthy, active and contributing member of the community from the inside out.
Youth sports at the YMCA teach kids more than how to score goals, make baskets or hit doubles into the gap; they teach character and social skills for future leaders. Y leagues aren’t just for kids, either — we also offer pick-up and competitive leagues for adults.
The YMCA philosophy of youth sports:
- Everyone plays — We do not use tryouts to select the best players. No one is cut from a team.
- Safety first — Coaches and officials make sure all equipment and facilities are safe.
- Fair play — The Y is about playing by the rules and showing respect for all involved.
