Liberty Martial Arts at The Hamilton YMCA



Classes are available for children, teens, and adults ages 4 and older. Beginning students ages 7-17 are required to attend and graduate the Intro Class before moving into rank specific classes.

Students receive access to the Liberty Martial Arts mobile app which includes bonus and supplemental videos, rank history, pro shop, and more.

All belt ranks earned are recognized at over 1,000 ATA locations worldwide.

About Taekwondo

The art of Taekwondo allows students to focus on both their physical and mental development.

Benefits include:

  • Fitness: Students develop strength, flexibility, confidence and self-esteem while developing overall physical fitness.
  • Self-Defense: Students of all ages can apply the lessons learned to maintaining their personal safety.
  • Self-Confidence: As students accomplish new goals their confidence level increases and instills a sense of discipline and self-confidence that will carry over to all aspects of life.
  • Personal Development: Students will improve discipline, honor, self-control, respect, courtesy and perseverance throughout their training.

Each class is led by a team of certified ATA (American Taekwondo Association) instructors under the direction of our Chief Instructor. All certified black belt instructors are background checked, CPR and First Aid Certified, and have completed a minimum of 300 teaching hours prior to certification.

Classes

All classes are in person at the JKR Branch in the Kids Gym.

Please complete the student information form once registration is complete.  

Preschool and Kindergarten (Ages 4 – 6)

Our preschool and kindergarten program allows younger students to learn the fundamentals of martial arts with a curriculum and pace designed just for them. Benefits include improved: Self Control and Discipline, Courtesy, Respect, Social Skills, Motor Skills, Hand Eye Coordination, and Attention Span. Classes are educational, action packed, and fun! Rank advancement ceremonies are held the last class of the session.

First time and continuing students ages 4-6 should select this class.

Youth White – Black Belt Class (Ages 7 – 17)

This program is open to students who have completed the Intro Class or have earned a belt rank in previous training.

Classes focus on physical and mental development. Students improve strength, flexibility, confidence and self-esteem while developing overall physical fitness. Taekwondo instills discipline, honor, self-control, respect, courtesy and perseverance. Rank advancement ceremonies are held the last class of the session.

Adult Class (Ages 18+)

Our adult class features the best of traditional Taekwondo along with fitness and reality based self defense training. Students will learn to defend themselves while improving strength, flexibility, confidence self-esteem and developing overall physical fitness. Rank advancement ceremonies are held the last class of the session.
