Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Part-Time YMCA Youth Leaders. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing and overseeing various youth-focused initiatives, including coaching community sports, organizing and participating in community events, coordinating Teen Nights, SPOT nights, working with our RECESS (Recreation, Enrichment, and Community Engagement for School Success) program, assisting with leading the Leaders Club, and assisting with day-of operations for our YSKI program. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in our community, offering insight and experience in different areas.

Responsibilities:

Community Sports Coaching:
  • Organize and coach community sports leagues for youth.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to young athletes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive sports environment.
Community Events:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Community Youth Initiatives to plan and execute community events.
  • Engage with local businesses and organizations to enhance event participation.
  • Represent the organization at community gatherings.
Teen Nights and SPOT Nights:
  • Plan and coordinate engaging and safe Teen Nights and SPOT Nights.
  • Develop and implement activities that promote socialization and personal development.
  • Build relationships with local schools and youth organizations.
RECESS Program:
  • Collaborate with schools to support the RECESS program.
  • Facilitate recreational and enrichment activities for students.
  • Contribute to the overall success and growth of the RECESS initiative.
Leaders Club:
  • Engage with the Leaders Club and support leadership development activities.
  • Collaborate with club members to create impactful community initiatives.
  • Encourage and mentor young leaders within the community.
YSKI Program:
  • Develop and implement a skiing program for youth in the community.
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
Program Development:
  • Identify additional opportunities for youth engagement and community outreach.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new initiatives and programs.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in youth development.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with youth in a coaching or mentoring capacity.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for community engagement and youth development.

Pay: $19/hr
