Youth and Government

What is Youth and Government?

In 1936, YMCAs across the country began the Youth and Government program as a teen leadership exercise founded in the spirit of teaching civic responsibility to new generations of Americans.  Since then, Youth and Government programs have been established in 45 states, involving more than 50,000 teens across the country every year.

Future Leaders are Made at the Hamilton Area YMCA!

We're seeking highly motivated, civic-minded students eager to elevate their passion for government, politics, and leadership to the next level!

Join our Youth and Government Program! Through our program, students embark on a journey that equips them to become more knowledgeable about our government. The program is guided by the YMCA Core Values-Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility-which shape our approach to leadership roles and conference planning.

In this program, students will gain valuable insights into government operations, public policy, interactive workshops, public speaking, and live mock debates. The aim is for our students to develop essential leadership skills while forming lasting connections with peers and mentors.
